Dr. George Pirie, Lacey Emergency Veterinarian

Dr. George Pirie

George has been most interested in science and animals over any other subject, and his interests led him to attend veterinary school in his home state of Georgia. He became interested in veterinary medicine throughout his undergraduate studies and was accepted to the University of Georgia School of Vet Med in 2007.

George focused primarily on large animal medicine during his first 4 years following graduation in 2011 and subsequently worked with cattle farmers in central PA. He transitioned to small animal emergency medicine around 2015, where he has maintained his interest and excitement in veterinary medicine and dabbles in orthopedic surgery from time to time. He enjoys his free time working outdoors, riding motorcycles, and building furniture. His goal is to do as much as he can for each patient within his capabilities and hopes for and works towards the best outcome possible.

His family is comprised of 3 dogs (Jelly Bean, Cheesecake, and Squirt) and 2 cats (Tubby and Little). His human family consists of Naomi.

His favorite saying is “Pay it forward when you can.”
